Prague

Today Julie and I spent the day in Prague.   We toured the city in the morning with a guide,  Honza, who shared with us information on the history, architecture and politics of this wonderful country.

The Jewish quarter part of the tour was especially interesting.   I have posted a photo of the graveyard in which 85,000 bodies are buried, up to 10 deep,  because of restrictions on where Jews could be buried in the city.

We were reminded of the relatively large numbers of Czech folks living in the upper Midwest and check Wikipedia and did see Wisconsin and Minnesota as being high on the list.

The food is outstanding, but very heavy.   We has roast pork,  goulash,  bread and potato dumplings,  for our lunch and dinner.   For breakfast we had crepes with plumb jam.   Good thing we have been cycling and are walking a lot.
